I hope that you are in good health and good spirits. It is my responsibility to let you know that we have made the difficult decision to cancel our June/July 2020 session at Camp Waskowitz. Above all else we prioritize the health and safety of our campers and volunteers, and at this time it has become clear to us that we will be experiencing the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis at least into the early summer. We hope that by making this decision now it will remove one small element of uncertainty that may have been weighing on your mind.
We are proud that families in our region have been able to come together, so to speak, by staying apart. We encourage you to continue to practice social distancing and other ways to keep one another safe and minimize the impact of the virus. We are optimistic that continued efforts to combat the virus will allow us to host our August camp session at Camp Kirby. In any case, we will be meeting next month to evaluate our plans for August. We are committed to following the guidelines set forth by state and local government and the recommendations of scientific experts. We will keep you posted as we move forward.
There will be more information to follow in the next few days as we work out the details of registration, payments, and other impacts of this decision. In the meantime you can visit https://www.campquest.org/quest-at-home for information about activities you can do at home and ways to connect with other Camp Quest campers.
As always, thank you for your continued support of Camp Quest NorthWest.
Mike Warbington, CQNW President
